Our vision for Blockus - the Web3 Gaming Ecosystem

Blockus aims to revolutionize social x gaming by creating an interconnected and seamless gaming experience. The initial phase begins with building blockchain solutions to help game studios seamlessly onboard Web2 players. Over time, the goal is to progressively decentralize, creating a community owned gaming ecosystem.

Entities Involved

Blockus Foundation‍

The foundation consists of core contributors responsible for community-led governance and participation in BlockusDAO. They act as the cornerstone of the ecosystem.

Player Community

Decentralized identity is the future of the web.

Within BlockusDAO, each player has a decentralized player identity which cannot be taken down by a centralized entity. In the community, player actions lead to rewards, encouraging ecosystem growth and improvement. Players also have the power to influence initiatives in game development, actively shaping the future of the gaming ecosystem.

Builder Community

The builder community consists of those who produce content, build frontend facing components, or backend on-chain components running on the Blockus ecosystem. Builders generate proposals based on their game development experience and garner feedback and support from the player community, fostering innovation within the ecosystem.

Below, some examples of such community contributions.

Frontend components: UGC NFT collection generation toolkit, physical item NFT in game render, NFT gated guild, game to game item (NFT) portal, cross game identity persistence.

Backend on-chain components: transparent on-chain NFT drop rarity count and probabilities, game to game seamless guild porting, skill based tournament wagering, on-chain lootbox, on-chain analytics, and more.

Governance

BlockusDAO's governance is facilitated through community voting. The DAO follows a proposal process where participants can present ideas, improvements, and initiatives. Community voting ensures a diverse and self-sustaining ecosystem, empowering participants to shape the direction of BlockusDAO.

Composability

Composability is a core principle of BlockusDAO.

The composability of the BlockusDAO gaming ecosystem allows game developers to bootstrap their games and maximize distribution without having to build everything from scratch.  The community works together to promote mechanisms that enhance content and tooling composability, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Incentives

Builders are incentivized for content creation, their contributions to the protocol, and the development of ecosystem components. These incentives reward their efforts and encourage ongoing innovation and growth within the BlockusDAO ecosystem.

Players are also rewarded for their engagement with the community, including interactions with content and participation in governance. Frequent engagement is encouraged through rewards multipliers, further fostering a vibrant and active player community.

The Foundation provides guidance on the overall incentive structure and will make necessary updates over time to ensure an effective and sustainable incentive model.
